Beauty fashion girl vol 50

He may fuse African or uber ethnic patterns, fabrics or techniques with western finish and hedonism, but what comes out of Williamson's mind does not feel "sampled" but the fruit of an elusive imagination.

Whether pizzazz on the plage georgette camisoles or sequined bikinis or flip geometric beaded mini dresses, the clothes had great sex appeal, without ever being vulgar.

Prince's dance duo had ignited the mood with their hair shaking, hip swaying, foot tapping fashion moment, the best dancing any of us are ever likely to see on any runway, before the man from Minneapolis, mike in hand, top-hatted, left his front row seat to lead his band in one soaring number.

The collection that followed was Williamson's best in years, with echoes of the ambition of America and the sensuality of Italy, scene of the designer's successful night job at Pucci.

It helped that this show was also a lesson in styling, where Kate Phelan's astute edit gave the clothes a relaxed credibility they had lacked, and kept the bags to a minimum - though the posh punk sacks we saw were easily London's best. Kicked on by a natty soundtrack by DJ Michel Gaubert featuring lots of M.I.A., Williamson won himself a standing ovation.

Staged in a tent central London's classiest quadrangle, Eaton Square, the show was easily London's slickest affair: the dappled light beneath huge trees, The Artist-inspired door pandemonium, the truly excellent dance performance by Prince's dance duo.

The return of Williamson could easily have been seen as a retreat after showing for half a decade in New York. Instead, surfing in on a major investment a US investment fund spearheaded by famed former department store exec Marvin Traub, Matthew flipped his homecoming into a triumph with an imaginative collection that composed of quite unique fashion

The singer, who is playing a series of concerts in London, at first appeared to be only a front row guest at Williamson's spring-summer 2008 collection.

But the usual fashion scene became a pop concert when a Prince track struck up and the first two models onto the catwalk -- a pair of identical twins in purple dresses -- started to dance.

Prince, wearing a black suit and hat, then began singing into a microphone from his seat before jumping up and performing on the runway flanked by his band.

McDowell, whose breakout roles in "If..." and "A Clockwork Orange" came when he was not much older than Taylor-Compton is now, commented at an earlier press day that the ingénue needs to keep her head screwed on straight in order to make it for the long-term in the heady world of Hollywood movies.

"She's got tremendous talent," he said. "But it gets to the point where it's not about talent, it's about character. It will be really be up to her and her character to see whether she can come through this and move on up. That is the name of the game, and that is what is difficult."

The actor also wants to make it clear that this new version of "Halloween" is not a slasher movie, despite the grisly murders that take place as the action moves briskly along. "I don't like slasher movies, but this isn't one," he insisted. "I think this is more a classic horror film. I think it's a sort of Greek Tragedy, isn't it really? It's a classic horror movie, the boy next door, that's the scary part. It's the boy next door, this angelic child. But it's really an indictment about mental health, as much as anything else, if you want to get ridiculous about it.

The socialite heiress debuted her eponymous clothing line at the trendy Kitson boutique on L.A.'s Robertson Boulevard Thursday, in an event that was one part charity, one (major) part shopping.

"It's always been a dream of mine to have a clothing line," Hilton told E! News at the launch. "So, I've been working on it for the past year. I love being in fashion, designing, being creative."

Hilton added that one of her main goals in creating the price-conscious line was to take her own look and "make it so my friends could wear it."

She, of course, wore one of her own designs, a sparkly gold minidress that retails for $128, though she may be hard pressed to top the exposure garnered by another article of clothing from the line: Hilton desiged the denim she donned on her much photographed midnight release from the Century Regional Detention Facility in June.

As for the rest of the affordable line, T-shirts—most of which are emblazoned with the star's visage or name or some combination thereof—average $34, while denim is upwards of $88, while coats and dresses retail for $68 and above. The most expensive items in the line are the Hilton-approved sequin dress and a gold metallic coat, both priced at $128.

"I just wanted to make clothes that were comfortable and fun," she said, adding that additional pieces from Paris Hilton are due to be released next month.

The launch itself was about more than simple self-promotion, however. Proceeds from the special shopping event went toward Hilton's charity of choice, Los Angeles Children's Hospital, where she volunteered in the wake of her release. Some of the children from the hospital were even present.

"I went and visited them two months ago, and it made me really want to help," she told E! News. "So, now I'm going to a lot of charity events and bring them out to do fun things. It's nice to make someone smile and make a difference in someone's life."

It's all in a day's work for the heiress, who wants people to know she plans on making good on her statements that she would adopt a more socially responsible role.

"I've definitely matured," she said. "I'm 26 years old now, and I feel like I've been so blessed by God that I want to give back and do something in return. I feel like if everyone does their part, we can really make a difference."
